As we go through life we meet many people. Yet along the way there are those who become friends. Relationships are built and their presence adds a new dimension to our lives. They walk with us through celebrations and trials. Real ones grow with us. These are the people we choose to hold us accountable, encourage us, laugh with us and at times grieve with us. Today, these people will stand with us as we say vows in front of God; make promises to each other; declare our love; and change our history. We feel honored and appreciate our relationship with each one of them. We invite them to move with us through this marriage, keeping us accountable, encouraging us, laughing with us, growing together.

Lacey has always been the one to help me come out of my shell and I am so thankful for that... You know what they say: opposites attract ;)
The Groom's Attendants

The Best Man

Mr. Michael Linwood Sylvia, III

Groom’s Friend since 2002, when Cody picked up Michael at a The Heights dog park in Fort Worth, Texas and they have been best buds ever since. They enjoy cooking together, playing games, and making the ladies enthralled with their dashing good looks, culinary skills, and charm. Mike and Cody have spent many nights awake bonding and playing with fire. Cody and Mike once started a fire in the rain and made a bonfire out of a public BBQ pit. Mike and a Cody always greet each other with a loud "CaCaw" and a manly top gun style hug.

The Groomsmen

Dr. Von Preston Gray

Von is the groom’s Life Long friend since 1983. They planned numerous sleep over’s to watch the entire Star Wars trilogy, but all were fast a sleep after "A New Hope". They played doubles tennis competitively for Sharyland High School. Their rhythm together did not stop with their synchronization on the court, but carried over to music and performing it together. Von and Cody were the founding members of the "No Pride" club. A belief that you could walk up to any girl in any situation and strike up a conversation, because they had struck out so much with the ladies that they had no pride left to get bruised. Obviously this belief paid off for Cody in the end! Cody was a groomsman at Von’s Wedding where he sang with all groomsmen and Allison’s male family members’ acapella.

Mr. Kevin Lee Andis

Kevin is the Groom’s Life Long friend since 1983. Kevin and Cody played little league sports, and played in a rock band together. They both enjoy experiencing live concerts, and have shared in more than a few Yellowcard performances. Cody has been very close with the entire Andis family. Cody was Kevin’s best man at his wedding and shared a special dance with Kevin’s Mother, Elaine. Cody is anticipating a second dance with her at his wedding. At Kevin’s bachelor party he learned of Kevin’s alternate personality called the "Gremlin".

Mr. David "Mike" Hawk

Dave is the groom’s cousin from Indiana, but more like a brother from another mother. Cody and Dave’s friendship is so strong that Dave broke up with a longtime girlfriend at Cody’s request, after Cody met her for the first time. Cody was Dave’s best man at his wedding. Dave’s bachelor party will live in infamy and the windy city will never be the same. Cody performed "Lost in this Moment" by Big & Rich at Dave and Elizabeth’s wedding ceremony. Dave always seems to be able to pick Cody up whether it is emotionally or physically. Cody has made a request of Dave to perform "the Worm" at the wedding ball, a treat for all to witness.

Mr. Brian Lee Walls

Brian is the groom’s cousin’s husband. Brian is fondly referred to as the North Texas Situation. Brian is the worst gambler Cody has ever seen. Brian and Stacy requested Cody sing at their wedding ceremony "I will be here" by Steven Curtis Chapman. Cody respects how hard Brian works at his trade and his astuteness to start investing in real estate at a young age. He has a fantastic sense of humor, namely why Cody’s cousin fell in love with him. Brian seamlessly fit into the family.

1st Lieutenant Jarrod Troy Hinton

Jarrod is the groom’s Friend since 2006. Cody knew Jarrod was a special individual when he grew a very impressive beard to support Cody. The beard was grown out until Cody could walk again after breaking his tibia. Jarrod knows that quality time, sacrifice and compassion are important to being a good friend. He also enjoys lengthy games of Uno, seriously you have to play to 1,000. Cody and Jarrod share a passion for justice as they patrol the streets of DFW at night as the crime fighting duo Ace & Gary. Cody was a groomsman in Jarrod’s wedding.

The Ushers

Mr. Nicholas John Keyes

Nick is the groom’s friend since 2004. Nick was Cody’s workout partner, and now Nick’s wife took over the role of "encouraging" him to go to the gym ;-) Nick shared his first kiss with his future wife in Cody’s drive way! Nick has a firm grasp on reality and a few conspiracy theories, but always seems to depart some type of wisdom upon Cody when he is able to have a deep philosophical conversation. Cody recalls one such contemplation. "As a frugal man there are some things you should spend extra on, like toilet paper, dental work, and quality time spent with friends." Nicolas is also a selfless man, and shared his one man kayak with Cody. In hindsight, perhaps some things should not be shared. Cody shot his first bow and arrow under Nick’s supervision and tutelage.

Mr. Johnathan Abel Terrazas

John is the groom’s Friend since 2004. If you ever needed to kill an entire day with someone and do particularly nothing but just be amused, John is your man. He has a passion for independent films, so be careful when he picks the movie out. Never ride in the car when John is driving. Cody was an usher at Jonathan’s wedding. John and Cody enjoy fishing together… whether it is for fish or just appreciating the finer moments in life.
