The O'Neill Family Crest

It all began with a promise of land to the first man that is able to sail or swim across the sea and touch the shores of Ireland. Many contenders arrived, including a man named O'Neill, who begins to fall behind the others. Using his cunningness, O'Neill cuts off his left hand and throws it onto the beach before the other challengers are able to reach shore, technically becoming the first of them to touch land and wins all of Ireland as his prize.

Faith, Compassion, and Love are the things O’Neill’s are made of. As our children grow and make their own families, we hope these attributes continue to grow and live on. Family is a blessing from God and we are blessed to have a family that continues to grow, as the Hamer and O’Neill families join together.

It all began when one of Bill’s great Aunts decided to spend years tracking the family tree. After ten years of being faithful to her commitment, she found that an ancestor of the Hamers had been on the Mayflower! She was so excited and proceeded...eventually finding out that person ended up being the first person put in stocks after they landed! Yep, those Hamers...a touch on the wild side... always got stories. Yet the generations have proven courageous and hard-working... their family pride runs deep and it is important to live in a way that honors and guards the reputation of the family name.

Things are never more important than people…Nothing is more attractive than a servant’s heart…a home is blessed where each puts the happiness of the others first…your work ethic is in direct proportion to your success…mediocrity is not acceptable…encourage others…know, use and share your gifts & talents…loyalty above all things, except honor…walk your talk…and it isn’t about religion, it is about a relationship…Nothing is more important than God, everything belongs to Him, He is just sharing and we are to be good stewards of our blessings.
